Looking for a fun kitchen project to do with the youngsters? This is a quick and easy treat that can accommodate the skill level of any age child…..or adult for that matter!
I haven’t included any “amounts” in these directions because how many you make is entirely up to you. I would suggest making PLENTY, as they little guys are quite tasty AND very easy to munch on at all hours of the day. (hint…they disappear QUICKLY)
Creamy Peanut Butter
Marshmallow Fluff or Creme
Chocolate Candy Coating (or you can melt chocolate chips)
Break the graham crackers into large squares, then into small rectangle planks. Lay them out in stacks of two and assemble the rest of your ingredients.
Smear peanut butter on the bottom side of one rectangle and marshmallow on the bottom of the other piece. Don’t overload the crackers or you’ll end up with an oozing mess. Just a thin application will do.
Put one cracker on top of the other and BARELY press them together. Remember….no ooze desired!
Repeat the process until you have assembled as many sandwiches as you want. Lay them on a platter or baking sheet and pop them into the refrigerator for half an hour.
At the end of half an hour, melt your candy coating or chocolate chips until smooth and dip-able.
Remove the sandwiches from the fridge. Grab one sandwich by placing your fingers on just one of the crackers and pressing the opposite cracker into the chocolate. Pull straight up and let the excess chocolate drip off. Invert and place on a wire rack.
Now… you can dip one side or two, that’s up to you. If you are going to dip the second side, you’ll need to refrigerate the sandwiches again until the chocolate has hardened on the first side, then repeat the process. I chose to dunk one side…. I might be impatient!
Allow the chocolate to set for about 15 minutes, then place the sandwiches back on a tray and return them to the refrigerator for an additional 30 minutes.
Here’s what the finished product looks like.
They look like mini candy bars right? Super cute…super easy….super tasty. Win win win!
Store these covered in the refrigerator.
